Mike Green with a full NTC until Feb 2020 vetoes the deal--which is a complete overpay for a 1 year rental on Trouba. Trouba has absolutely no reason to complete a sign-and-trade deal. That kind of deal limits his market (and thus his salary) to only teams that can afford the Jets high ask price. In 13 months his market becomes the whole NHL as an UFA and he has the benefit of knowing the 2020-21 salary cap increase and where the CBA is at so he can structure the contract to avoid any stoppage.

The draft day move up is even worse in terms of over-payment. Using an old NHL value chart the #4 pick is worth 783 while the #6 (702) and the #54 (182) are worth 884. 884 > 783 so the picks alone should entice Colorado to swap picks.

lol I'll give you the Trouba/Green argument but that value chart nonsense is good. Well done.
