Carolina doesn't need defenders and adding Zaits to the trade lowers the value of Pesce not increases it...in other words, not happening. Kap and a 3rd or 4th for Pesce is about right.

Heard from Pierre LeBrun on TSN 1040 that Carolina has interest in trading Pesce/Faulk/Hamilton for Zaitsev + Kapanen

There's likely more to it; doesn't make sense if there isn't.

Marner's term doesn't make sense . If he signs a 5 year deal, then him, Matthews and Nylander are all UFAS at the exact same time which is not good for the organization.
