Definitely very close to the cap but 23 is the roster max not the roster min, so you don't have to add another 3 players. But yeah it would be great if you could get EK and Duchene for less so you could have money to have those other players on the roster. If its true that Montreal is on EK's list because his wife wants to be closer to home then maybe he takes less to sign there, but if anything MTL would have to overpay to get Duchene.

one of a few issues. Have to resign Domi next season and have two UFAs also and almost no money coming off the books.

Dont have the cash for two massive free agents
