Why would you take on Clarkson's deal, trading Shore and a pick, to take Carrier and two picks?

Makes no sense to me

Idk. Vegas needs cap space. They pay anaheim to take the space and Anaheim gains roster room for their youngsters. I'm pretty new at this, but I appreciate the suggestion

Things to keep in mind, Anaheim is not a super wealthy team, it is hard for them to take on additional salary like the Clarkson deal, especially if salary is owed. They couldn't take on that deal without cap/salary going back. Lastly, for them to take that deal, if they could, it'd take wayyy more than a 2nd, a 4th and a 4th line roster player. It would likely take a blue chip prospect, like a Cody Glass.

Also wanted to point out that Clarkson goes on LTIR. His career has been done. That contract is not one of the one's Vegas would look to move.
