Devils decline, Coleman is an all-situational player on a great cap number for 2 more years – even if they decide to trade him after that time, they would get a much better return.

much better than a 2nd round pick and a solid defensive prospect ? much seems steep....

It's just not a move they need to make right now. 2 more years of Coleman is worth more than that to the Devils, especially when they could re-sign him long term, or flip him at the deadline the year his contract expires. He was a 20-goal scorer on a terrible team this season who's also one of the best penalty killers on the team – let's see where that goes before trading him for prospects.
