As a Canucks fan I'm "meh" on this. Just another bad contract we don't need. As a team trying to leave rebuilder status, this doesn't help us. If they did something like this, Eriksson or Sutter would need to go back.

I thought about adding Sutter since both Perry and him have the same amount of term but I wasn't too sure how it would impact the value of the trade. I'd prefer Eriksson going back though. That being said we move up in the draft by one pick + we add a late 1st + unlike Lucic Perry's contract would expire prior to the expansion draft so he would not require any protection. That being said he would probably be traded in the final year of his contract at the deadline with 50% retained salary.

Sutter going back would likely only decrease the Sharks first to a 2nd or third.
