Quiet Off-Season

Description
I think with cap constraints and decent depth all-around, it will be a quiet off-season for the Bruins. The team fell just short of a Cup win despite injuries throughout the regular season and postseason and really only stand to lose a rental, Johansson, and a depth defenseman, Kampfer. I think they keep space open for young players to push for spots and improve at the deadline if need be. I see a rotation of players on the left side of the defense all season long, to keep Chara fresh and Moore/Grzelcyk active, and more or less a tryout at the RW2 and eventually RW3 spot between a number of young players. Most people want to get rid of Backes, and I count myself among them, but after next year a buyout becomes quick and painless as opposed to taking on another bad contract or losing a pick/prospect to move him this year, if they can even find a team he'd be willing to go to. The one trade I did make, was to move back out of the first round and move the rights of a pair of guys I don't see having regular roles in Boston for three second-rounders and a physical fourth-line option. In a draft this deep, I'd take quantity over quality if NJ wants to move back into the first to grab a specific player.

Really hard to guess on McAvoy, but I am guessing you're going to see more in the 8 region

Devils say no in a heartbeat. Alexander is 25 and idk when he will return, the first is nice but it’s 3 spots and in return you are getting not 1 not 2 but 3 seconds?!?!?!?? Shero says nope.

Its hard enough to know what will happen with Marner/Aho/Rantanen/Point because there are so few comparables.

In regards to high end D, there are even less comparables. Its really up in the air, but I think proven 2 way 23+ minute per night D men are going to be 8+ million.

I am under the ideals that Marner, Aho, Rantanen and Point shouldnt be getting 10 plus million outside their ELC

Same goes for McAvoy which he wouldnt, but the way I would see a good deal is at the least, 6 years at 7 million

I think this is very realistic, Maybe tinker with that NJ trade but youre def right about them trying to develop our young guys and then trade at the deadline if need be. I think something like this is most likely going to happen. Maybe try and get rid of Miller (as much as i like him as a player I think theyre going to try and get rid of him to clear some space for a player who can stay healthy). I think that McAvoy and Heinen could potentially each get alittle more. Overall B+/A-
