Don't see why LA does this. They're about to blow it up. Might need to slide some picks their way. Or just buy out Backes.

If anything this seems like an under-value for Boston after the season/postseason Krug just had. Toffoli isn't coming off a great season and the pick is just a 4th. Backes stinks but they could swallow the 4.6 M for 2 seasons to pick up Krug. Puck moving LD seems like a useful fit for their roster going forward.

Krug is a UFA after 20 i believe so that's a bad move for LA. Speculation that Stevie Y makes a Krug push (Mich. St. product)... also agree with above about draft picks. Toffoli's getting moved and Boston could be the place but the return doesn't make sense. Prospects, picks, bad Backes contract makes sense.

I doubt Stevie gives something up when they can get him in FA in 12 months though. I don't think Krug moves, Boston needs him to make a deep run next year. I see a Frederic-level prospect and like a 2nd and 4th for Toffoli if you're attaching Backes' money.
