Donateo scored 16 points in 22 games with Minnesota and is 23, but they give him away for a horrendous defenseman?

Hmm, and why does MIN do this? It is unlikely that Fenton traded Donato for Coyle, then to give him up for a rather useless for Minnesota defender of the third pair and fourth round.

Based on the Maatta trade for Kahun(side note, remember when pens fans said Maatta was worth a 1st and a A+ prospect for the last 2 years lol), theyre simlar defensively but Maatta has more points and their GAR is not far off, thats why I flip the pick.

hes a very streaky player, I think he played so well after being traded because he was mad he got traded from his hometown. He clearly thought he deserved more playing time in boston but his play didnt show that he was right. i dont think this is the worst idea in terms of value. I dont think MIN should get rid of him though

Ok, but if Chicago’s GM made such a deal, it doesn’t mean that Fenton will make such a deal, especially Maatta is a better player than Scandella. Scandella also has one year of contract, if Botterill could get just third round one for Scandella, that would be a victory.

Maatta and Scandella are pretty similar defensively and as they are defensemen, i wouldnt say Maatta is clear cut better just cause if you take away Maatta's offense, like last year, then Scandella could be considered better. Scandella had 5 more goals than Maatta last year

Well for me, Maatta is better than Scandella. Still, he had previously struggled with injury, but he has a very high IQ, but unfortunately he is terribly slow. Scandella is more likely to have been overpaid for third pair of defender and I don’t see anything special about him, but he didn’t even pull the third pair last season.

Uhh, he played with Risto and had over 20 minutes multiple times, especially last season so dude what. Yeah Dahlin came in this year but Scandella was still 2nd pair most of the year

You just spent 6 months crapping all over scandella and trading him for ahl players.

He is terrible

I saw how he was the best pair, and if in the first year he played more or less tolerable, but last season he was one of the worst.

I didnt crap on him and I traded him for players I wanted. I only move him because the Sabres have Pilut ready for full time Hunwick behind him and Borgen behind him. With Dahlin McCabe hes relegated to 3 LHD and the Sabres need to spend that money elsewhere

His d partner also won the green jacket and everyone including LJS now think Risto needs to be shot to the moon and forgotten about.

Scandella played with ristolainen 31.6% of his 5x5 time.

He also played 17:37 a game, 6th for buffalo defensemen

Well, for some reason, I have no such questions for McCabe and Dahlin. I really don’t really understand why you are trying to justify a bad game of Scandella, except to raise his price on this site, but his real price is the middle round, I even liked Beaulieu more than Scandella, but Botterill sold it in sixth round.

Or maybe Phil is simple could not normally use Beaulieu? I understand that Beaulieu is just defensman for third pair, but Scandella’s game infuriated me, he was slow and very often romp with a puck in his zone, after which there were either dangerous moments or goals.
