Alright, well... I'm going to hole up in a bunker while you get shelled by those three fanbases you traded with...

Boqvist, the #8OA last year in a very deep defensive draft, is one year closer to the NHL after lighting up the juniors. Boqvist in this year's draft would be right behind Byram as a top 6 pick. Therefore, it would be Boqvist for LA's #5 pick OA nothing else as again, he's closer to the NHL then any other defenseman not named Byram; leave out the 2nd round pick.

That said, that would be dumb of the hawks to move Boqvist if they draft Byram. Those two together would be the future 1st liners for the Hawks hands down. Moving Gus and Beaudin #27OA plus a 2nd rounder is more feasible and pretty fair.

What? @ChiHawk likes your comment, then comments that including the 2nd is an over payment. Vegas is shedding around 8 million in (insanely valuable) cap space while picking up the 6th leading scorer among D-men last year.

If Gus is traded his value is a 1st rounder. I don’t see the problem.

Kings would want Borquist and 2020 1st. They have to win the trade, otherwise they just take a great prospect with the pick.

Vegas wants nothing to do with this. Clarkson goes on LTIR. Eakin is a young penalty killing 2/3C who wins faceoff. They aren't giving him away. Vegas will be moving players like Miller, Haula, Eakin for draft picks/prospects. They won't be giving these players and picks for zilch.

They need to be cap compliant before he goes on LTIR. His contract will be moved, it has negative value. Gus isn’t zilch, nice try.

Listen, I love the idea of trying to get both Byram and Turcotte, but your valuations are off. They seem fine to you, but start to consider it from the other GM's perspective, and if you know anything about their team and needs, you'll see why these aren't going to work.

Explain it to me. Because I know the Kings have in their last 2 drafts selected centres with their first two picks (in each draft). To me that says they would be interested in drafting a D-man, or BPA. Like @ChiHawk points out, Boqvist is a former 8OA who hasn’t lost value since his draft year. Unlike ChiHawk I think a small add would be necessary but to suggest I am ignoring another teams need is an exaggeration or unqualified.

EDIT:

And nearly every VGK ACGM I check has them acquiring a top 4 D (while shedding cap)

Not calling Gussy zilch. But it would be very generous to say one year of Gussy is worth the #17 pick. Certainly not worth the pick and Cody Eakin.

And they actually can be 10% over the cap until season starts, which is when they LTIR Clarkson.

The Blackhawks have been through this LTIR situation themselves. You LTIR day 1 of the regular season the same day you need to be cap compliant. LTIR isn’t cap relief.

What would Gus be worth at the TDL? Certainly a first. Plus a toxic contract that allows the team the ability to resign Karlsson.

Too much sweatener to LA. Boqvist is worth the #5th OA pick. Scott Powers just mentioned in the Athletic today that boqvist in this year's draft would go #6 if he didn't play a year for London already and since he did, his stock shot up as he was flat out elite in that league this past year. Like I said earlier, Boqvist is a righty and Byram a lefty...that would be huge for our prospect pool coupled with Jokiharju and Mitchell who look to be locks. However, I would move Beaudin....maybe Beaudin, Gus and next year's 1st for the #5.

What you would move and what LA would accept are different. Trades for valuable assets tend to be a little painful.

For me, if Boqvist can bring back a 1C prospect I make the trade. He has had 2 concussions and is (at this point) a one dimensional defender (albeit, elite in that dimension). I like a future top 4 of Byram-Joker, Beaudin, Mitchell (Plus Turcotte replacing Toews) better than any combination including Boqvist (without a Toews replacement)

What you think and what is fair trade value are different.

You don't trade a #8OA 1 year removed, 1 year from the NHL and who's been elite in the juniors PLUS a early 2nd round pick for the #5OA pick in the current draft. That is WAY over paying...sorry. Every year fans get caught up in the latest media hype around the draft.

Your credibility is shot anyway. You think Gus, Beaudin 2020 1st, gets you 5OA.

None of what you said adds up value wise for both teams...only LA.

Gus = late round 1st
Beaudin = Late round to mid round 1st
2020 = 1st round

That's 3 first round picks 2 of which are mid rounder in value.
