Vancouver - Is the value right

Created by: Foppa21
Team: 2019-20 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 20, 2019
Published: Jun. 20, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Rumors are that Benning has been looking at Tyson Barrie. Avs would want a young top-6 winger in return. Vancouver fans, wondering if the value is right. Imagine picks would have to be added to balance it all out.

Obviously contingent on an extension.

No way in hell man. You have no idea how good and how important Bo Horvat is to the Canucks. No. Way.

With extension in place I would say that its close to fair, I’d say ordinarily VAN would add but Bo is so important to the team that if they moved him it would have to be 1 for 1

I know he is important but it’s a 60 point C for a 60 point D... Value wise VAN should add in theory, but as I said in my other post he is extremely important and if they move him they wouldn’t add

Well aware man, just curious on value. Figure Boeser is an untouchable, so he's the only player I can see the Avs targeting on the Canucks and they won't be interested in futures.

With extension, would Horvat + 10 OA for Barrie + 16 OA + a mid/lower prospect do it? Wouldn't say it'll be easy for Avs fans to stomach a Barrie trade, so they're in a similar position.

Avs could take a chance on Granlund or Goldobin on a team friendly deal, and see if they can fill a top 6 role.

Canucks don't need Barrie at a cost of Horvat- they have Hughes to build around, there's no sense throwing away Horvat.

Value wise I would say yes that makes a ton of sense, but it would just come down to whether or not VAN would be willing to move Bo... cause In COL they have great D prospects to fill in for Barrie while in VAN they don’t have a replacement for Horvat ready

If the Avs are moving Barrie, it won't be for a "chance" though. If we get this summer right, they're a cup contender for the next 4-5 years.

It’s not Throwing away a player when you get a Top RHD back, in a leafs and Canucks fan so I understand moving Horvat would be tough but the leafs fan in me knows what it’s like to build a d-core around an elite LHD and not having anyone to play with him

Totally get that. Suppose the Avs could throw in Bowers, but then Vancouver would definitely have to add more.

I'm honestly stunned that you think the Canucks would trade their future captain and heart and soul of the team for Barrie.

Like I said it would be hard to move him and I’ve already said several times here I am talking about VALUE and it would come down to whether or not Benning is willing to move Bo

It's definitely closer, but I think including Bowers is too much on the Avs side. Would have to add from Vancouver or take out Bowers

i think bowers tops out as a 3rd line center. with 3 picks in the first round this years draft we can build a 2nd line. i think he is expendable if we are receiving horvat

Boldy Krebs Kaut future 2nd line then byram at 4 future top pair. idk if Van does it tho

Yeah, you might be right, but still a higher end prospect. That would be one HELL of a second line, though we probably wouldn't see them together for 3 or so years.
