Hard pass is an easy out. I'd like to see more details other than your obvious disagreement. My thought is this gets Vegas out of cap hell by moving two players expected to move (Miller and Eakin) and get an 80 point winger in return. The addition of Gusev based on the earlier mention of cap hell and his willingness to go to a team with Malkin as opposed to returning to KHL. Also allows Vegas to move either Smith or Marchessault for assets or other help.

The Pens should never make that Buffalo trade.. Do people realize how valuable Schultz is to this team? Letang is iffy every year going into the playoffs. Who is going to be the point shot on the PP if Schultz and Letang are gone? Gudbranson should never get PP time by the way, if that is anyone's inclination. Buffalo considers Nylander a bust.. The hope is he comes in this year and is a cheap, serviceable third line wing. (they aren't optimistic about that).

Maybe dealing Schultz is a cap dump.. But that is how you run a bad franchise. He is very valuable and comes in at a good price. You keep those players or get real value for them.
