This is actually one of the best first attempts I’ve seen on this site. Far better than mine.

My only criticism is the Ottawa Trade. It’s not a back breaker and yes the leafs could certainly afford to give that up but it is an overpayment. Unpopular opinion but zaitsev is better defensively than both miller and demelo. Isn’t that what the leafs really need?

Demelo is probably worth a 2nd or a 3rd, so in terms of value your are paying to move zaitsev with Bracco and a 7th. His value is certainly better than that. On Ottawa, I think zaitsev could actually be quite useful as a 2 way guy and in their PP.

Z would be good for sens maybe a bit too much maybe get a late pick back w Demelo but z did request a trade. What would help is marner not demanding so much cash 8.5 mill would be nice but unlikely. The guy who might get traded is a winger maybe Willy when he is lighting it up in the beginning of season be hard to see him go but the cap is making most of the choices get a solid top 4 rd with 4-5 mill cap Pesce ekholm josi Faulk slavin Manson martinez someone like that

Also still gotta plug holes for the Marlies. I am not sure if AHL signings affect the cap for leafs
