Canucks team UFA edition

Created by: Cube
Team: 2019-20 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 26, 2019
Published: Jun. 26, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not onboard with the rumored contract Myers is looking for. Went with some secondary options that will provide value while simultaneously not screwing up our future salary structure. Gave Stralman a identical contract as Edler (NMC included). Picked up Donskoi + Chiarot on enticing contracts (4yr deals) in order to separate ourselves from what other teams might be offering. Kept Tanev as I don't believe his injury history would allow us to bring anything back worthwhile, he's also an ideal partner for Hughes. Limiting his workload (no PK time) this year in an effort to hopeully reduce injury risk.

I do like this line up, I would hope to see Eriksson and Sutter moved but that may be a far cry. Defensive lines could be different too.

canucks are left with just about no cap room. not even enough to call Spooner up if there's an injury. plus how can Roussel be on LTIR there's no guarantee he is out for the season if he isn't on LTIR then we are over the cap. why bother buying LOUI out now just to save less than 500k and tie up cap space for 6 years. why not pay his signing bonus after july1st and then trade him to an Ottawa or Arizona (and yes I get we will have to give up a pick or young player ) and actually get rid of his salary. he wants out so he is going to have to accept a trade somewhere or retire and go back to Sweden. either way its a win for the canucks.
now isn't the time to spend to the cap.

Definitely don’t see the Canucks buying out Eriksson, was a lazy work around by me because I have no clue who would take him on. Canucks will for sure pay the July 1st bonus then try to entice a team to take on the remainder, I’m with you there. Don’t see a scenario where we call up spooner as I have Goldobin as the 13th forward then Gaudette and probably MacEwen ahead of him. The Luongo recapture penalty complicates matter a bit but if we move Erikssons salary this lineup is still valid.
