Vesey plus Fleury trade and other signings

Description
Jimmy Vesey wants a competitive team with top six availability. Pittsburgh fits that description perfectly, not to mention that he'd be next to Crosby or Malkin. If he's smart he'll pick a better team than Buffalo.

Fleury goes to Calgary and Rutherford uses the Andersen trade as a value boost. If TOR gets Andersen for 1st and 2nd picks and Fleury has similar value to Andersen, then the return for Fleury should be comparable to the return for Andersen. I don't know if Fleury has more/less/equal value to Andersen, but for now I'll assume equal value, but I don't think Calgary gives up their first because it's sixth overall. The trade I proposed is essentially two B/B+ prospects and one of Calgary's three second rounders for a 2 time Cup winning goalie with many good years left. Seems pretty fair to me.

Then a backup gets signed for two/three years to let Jarry develop into Murray's eventual backup.

With Sprong down for 8 months, right wing takes a hit as well, so Hudler becomes an option. I don't think Hudler will get more than $3-4 million after a posting relatively low numbers last season, but I think he'd work well in the Pens top six. I know it says LW but he used to play right wing with the Flames (correct me if that's wrong), so I hope he'll fit on the right side again.

Sheary/Kunitz become pretty interchangeable as the fourth line LW.

The defense still looks a little thin but I don't see an immediate solution. The goalie situation is a wildcard but I have faith in Murray. The offense is stacked.

Pittsburghs getting old, Buffalo is young and hasn't even hit their prime yet, if he's smart he'd go to Buffalo (or Toronto)

Is Pittsburgh really that old though? Sid is only 28. Malkin is 29. Kessel is 28. Letang is 29, Maatta & Dumo are young, Hornqvist is 28. Murray is only 22.

That window is still very much open.

We have three players over 30 - Fehr (30), Kunitz (36) and Daley (32). Didn't include Cullen or Lovejoy because they most likely won't be with the team next year so i would say the team is pretty young still and has at least another 3-5 years being a good team and having a good run at the cup. Vesey would also be playing top 6 mins with either Sid or Malkin on a competitive team.

    Agree with Shibbal18.
Vesey isn't going anywhere but Buffalo (to play with his good friend Eichel he trains with), or Boston, hometown.
