Playoff Push Then Sell Assets in Summer

Created by: Billy739
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 28, 2019
Published: Jun. 30, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With Domi and Mete's deals up in 2020 summer and then Tatar ,Petry ,Danault,Gallagher and Lindgren the year after this push will allow the names above to dictate who's getting paid and what .

Building for Today
By Planning for Tomorrow .

Domi-Duchene-Gallagher
Expect 60+ points from all 3 but this is mainly our top line match up to play vs Crosby,Toews and Mathews lines.

Tatar -Kotkanemi -Drouin
Expect a lot of Speed and shots from this line . they'll primarily be your OZ starters

Comtois -Poehling -Shaw
Expect lots of Aggression , Physicality , and Goals from these guys . Poehling was used as a bulk faceoffs Center behind Hughes most of his US developmental career so pairing Him with Shaw will help him hit the ground running

Ritchie -Thompson -Ritchie
Expect a lot of Aggression and Forecheck players all night long while cycle pucks back to the d tee up shots .

with Suzuki , Evans , Teasdale ,Fleury Masherin and Primeau in the AHL this year we have plenty of quality call up for injury times plus Peca buried if need be (225k cap hit so having him there is handy for playoffs)

MTL does give up a lot , and those conditional picks could hurt but they are based on MTL having success so its liveable .

We gave up good prospects we probably should have built on and moved out some of the other older players close to going UfA but there's still time for that . I moved out who i did because we got players in those roles that need those minutes.

The point of this build was to get bigger and tougher . With the additions of

The effort you put in is cool, but in my opinion these trades aren’t good for the habs. Ryan Murray is really banged up and is looking more like a bust then a stud. U don’t trade those picks for him, Armia is a big winger we need him. Maxims Comtois doesn’t have a high upside. We have so many A+ forward prospects . Trading lehkonen juulsen a 2nd and Danault??? Danault is our best centermen. Defensively/offensively, he was 4th in wells voting.. like wt the hell.

The Byron trade I can’t comment on because I don’t know those prospects but yeah overall I think this hurts the team and the other teams would make those deals in a second .

The nick Ritchie trade doesn’t make sense. He was not qualified so we could get him for free.

Buying out Alzner fixes a short term problem but will cause chaos the year after because his cap hit will be over 4 mil. The trades don’t really help MTL either.
