Please enlighten me how trading a guy on an amazing contract and proven 20 goal scorer helps
For a trade to work it must make sense for both teams.
Vegas right wing is pretty well loaded with Mark Stone and Reilly Smith.
Center not that much. Nick Suzuki is a center and shoots right.
Suzuki drive the Owen Sound to the playoffs, and then scored 42 points in 24 games for a ticket to the Memorial Cup where he get 7 points in 4 games.
He has matured a lot sinde the 2017 draft (round 1 , 13)
He is ready for NHL, and if not fit center, could be moved to right wing.
Still over salary cap with a roster of 20, and already used $2,644,999 of the Clarkson LTIR $5,250,000, usable LTIR is $2,605,001.
Subban and Gusev are both RFA and will not sign for the NHL minimum salary of $700,000.
Gusev was the top scorer in KHL last year. He could have sign a big contract for SKA (Saint Petersburg), he will cost a minimim of $3,000,000.
I think Vegas need to make cap space with a trade.
Tuch is a good fit, we are thin on the right side and he is a tall guy while most of our forwards are pretty small.
Yes Tuch signed an amazing contract ... for Vegas, remember it was signned October 19, 2018, before his 52 points season (.703 p/g),
previously he got 37 points in 84 games (0.440 p/g).
If you believe its not the way to go for Vegas, you have an idea for the cap ?
