Description

I don’t think Columbus does this deal unless they get an offer they can’t refuse.

The Rangers give up a ton to sure up Center depth with a player on the rise and unite the Panarin/ Dubois combo, plus get under the cap. Anderson gives the Rangers a younger big power forward to Replace Kreids.

Columbus gets some promising pieces in return that very well may pan out better for them going forward and bank on a high pick in a deep 2020 draft and a 1st in 2021, while they rebuild. They also get an additional year of RFA with Chytl and can use the money they would have spent on a Dubois deal to sign Kreider with likely additional cap space for other moves that Dubois would have tied up with another great year.

In the end it leaves the Rangers with cap space without buying out Shatty or Smith, both get another year to up their value and be moved at the deadline.

Hajek, Fox, and Kratsov start the year getting top minutes with the Wolfpack, while Gorton continues to work the phones.

Lol. Not a chance Columbus makes that trade. Not even freaking close. Take out the pick from Columbus and take out Kreider, there’s no chance he signs in Columbus with the team that would be around him. This is 100% awful.

It’s clear, but this feature is 50% about fantasizing and the other half about seeing if something sticks amongst a bunch of opinions that don’t have any real impact.

It's already been reported, That Trouba is seeking anywhere from $7.5M to $8.0M to sign with the NYR, No way i see him signing for less then those figures.

Trouba wants 7.5-8, Rangers want 6.5 to 7. I think the Rangers get the benefit in arbitration as Trouba only has one year of over 35 points and half a season playing top pair minutes. Arbitration doesn’t usually reward potential, where Trouba has the most value. Rangers get it done between 7-7.25 just prior to arbitration with a good signing bonus, offering a full no trade clause, and some kind of endorsement deals/connections for his wife in the medical field.
