*quitely* I think Hájek finishes this season as the second best defenseman on the Rangers' roster (above Skjei and Fox)

Why would the Rangers buyout Smith after trading Vlad and Kreider? At that point you might as well bury him in the minors.

No way you give up Hajek in that trade and I think Gusev wants more $$$ to leave the KHL. Also that Kreider trade is a doozy, an unproven first round pick from last year who wasn't even half a point a game in the ahl and a 2nd rounder for a big fast winger who scores 25 plus goals? And probably scores even more with a center like MacKinnon? No way

buyout costs 1m vs 3+ in the minors-- cap space would be close if you put lindgren in minors
