You can’t have that many retained salary transactions. Signing DeAngelo to a 3 year contract would be a mistake. That would bring him into his UFA year. Trouba and Buchnievich both likely want a few hundred thousand more. Also, Darren Raddysh won’t be in the NHL any time soon.

3 per year! ADa is not a long term fix, he's a stop gap. Raddysh is a filler while we tank and the kids play in the ahl.

So you think Edmonton is going to trade to get Strome back after giving him up for Ryan Spooner, who they then bought out, and give us a 2nd round pick for him? Hahahahahahahahaha.

The first part is the funny part. Finding legit NHLers who aren't going to flee, in this case a good rfa, is not so funny.

Man, what is it that NYR fans see in Deangelo that gets him over paid and term?

For the retained salary transactions, I forgot that Spooner was off the books (retained salary wise) so I thought we had 4. My bad lol
I wouldn’t consider DeAngelo a stop gap or long term fix, he’s more like something in between. But believe me when I say this, Darren Raddysh won’t make the team out of training camp. Adam Fox is more likely to do that.

If you're signing Loverde for Hartford, he's already signed an AHL contract with them. Not sure why you would sign him otherwise.

Raddysh won't be an NHLer ever, he's just a filler while we tank hard and let kids hog ice in AHL, in this scenario.

Fair enough, I thought it just wasn't showing yet. I guess it's an ahl deal only, surprisingly, even better!

I wouldn’t say never. He could prove us all wrong.
Putting someone who is not an NHL caliber player is not a David Quinn type thing to do, so I highly doubt he plays on the NHL, even in this scenario.
