Vegas wants more for Gusev or they will find a way to sign him

Description
Offers not enough for Gusev,
Jesse Granger keeps getting misquoted.
Here is a clearer response from him yesterday
"They’ve had teams call from around the league, they’ve had a few offers but I don’t think the offers are what they would like. Right now they are getting something like a second round pick with a prospect or a late draft pick attached to that, which is not nearly the value Nikita Gusev should draw."

Since those offers are clearly not enough, that is the reason he hasn't been traded yet. They can move a couple of dead contracts and sign him themselves

Seems like an easy fix yet FO had tight bond with Reaves and paid a hefty price to bring him in, and give him the total money in 1 less year on term. That's commitment, realistically, I doubt they ship him off. With him not seeing the ice in the playoffs and all, it might be better to separate. Too bad he wasn't a right d!

A 27 yr old player that never played in the NHL and is 5'-8" and 160lbs.
IMO a 2nd rdr and a C+ Prospect is fair.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't someone on LTIR (in this example Clarkson) count towards the cap before the start of the season? In other words, I think you may have to move his contract too. I think a second rounder and solid prospect, along with taking Clarkson off the Knights' books, for Gusev, might be a little more fair and would save them the trouble of moving other players.

Holden and Reaves on a great year might combine for 8 goals for the year, Gusev could get that in October

Vegas disagrees otherwise they would have traded him

It is a non issue, they can place him on LTIR in the offseason, training camp and the regular season, three separate formulas and applications to the league.
It is the exact same situation as the Leafs with Horton once they sign Marner

They can place Clarkson on LTIR in the off season, training camp, and through the year. Three different formulas and applications. Vegas is in the same issue as Toronto is with Horton after they sign Marner. No one in Leafland is talking about trading Horton because it is a non issue

That's not even close to fair lol. Gusev is the best player in the world that isn't in the NHL. If a team wants him, GMGM and Kelly probably want a 1st rounder and an "A level" prospect.

Then it looks like he wont be getting traded bc No GM will give that up for him.

I would agree, the likelihood of Vegas trading him is very low
