What team may look like by years end

Created by: McMan97
Team: 2019-20 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 14, 2019
Published: Jul. 14, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Zucker is all but gone. Spurgeon could be re-signed, depends if they extend Koivu, and depends what they acquire for Zucker. He'd likely get 5x7 million.
-- They'll likely shop at next years July 1st, not trade for anyone who's not on an expiring contract or a young player.

Trades
1.
EDM
  1. Zucker, Jason
  2. 2020 5th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Oilers need speedy forward to play with Draisaitl/McDavid who can bury. Larsson has less of a cap hit so 5th is included to help solidify deal.
2.
MIN
  1. Thomas, Ben [RFA Rights]
  2. Verhaeghe, Carter
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (TBL)
  4. 2020 3rd round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
2nd becomes a first if Bolts win Cup.
TBL
  1. Spurgeon, Jared ($2,593,750 retained)
Additional Details:
I believe the Wild should hold onto Spurgeon. Probably 5 times 7 million. However likely won't happen, would make all the sense in the world with Tampa.

It must be exhausting being a wild fan. Not bad not great, just right in the middle.

That is the Wild every single year.

No thanks for both trades. Larsson is a fine player, but if we have to move Zucker and a pick to get him I'd rather just hang on to Zucker. If we trade Spurgeon it has to be for a young star player, preferably in a trade like the Stone deal that sent Brannstrom to Ottawa for Stone with an extension.

I would make the Zucker trade, but I’m with @TanSor about the Spurgeon deal - the Wild need a very significant piece coming back.

If I were Minnesota I would keep Zucker unless the offer is very, very good like an overpayment. He would be way more valuable around the TDL especially if he has around 20-25 goals around then.

In terms of pure trade value.. Spurgeon is not even close to Stone.

That wasn't my point. What I was trying to say is that we do a sign and trade and get a really good prospect for him.
