In my opinion, Bertuzzi is right in there with Larkin as pretty much untouchable. His combination of grit and skill is hard to find. Also Risto wouldn't really make us a better team. Hes **** in his own end. We have Hronek on that right side who looking likes hes gonna be as good offensively as Risto and better defensively. We just drafted Seider, also a right shot. And even this year we have Mike Green who can put up offense from the back end. So i dont really see Risto to Detroit happening.

No hes not $hit in his own end, this is 100% a capfriendly thing because of his plus minus, but any other player you quote plus minus to, everyone on here says plus minus is irrelevant. Risto is far from garbage in his own end. The Sabres were $hit in their own end under Housleys system. Believe it or not, i dont care, Risto would be a huge upgrade in Detroit.

Risto was a -41, worst in the whole league. The next closest defenseman on the Sabres was Dahlin at -13. Plus/minus becomes relevant when you have a 30 point gap between players.

Not when your the number 1 defenseman on a team who fired their coach because his defensive system was such a mess NHL players had no idea how to play in it and gave up

its always the coach's fault in Buffalo eh, that argument holds up to some degree, but when your -41, its not just the coach's D structure. Risto's advanced stats aren't great either. Here's the question, if Risto was even decent in his own end and putting up points, then why would Buffalo wanna trade him?

They all played for the same coach and played the same system. Stop trying to blame to everyone but Risto

Last year it was Ryan O'Reillys fault, definitely need to trade him. Everyone on here was the expert, ROR was overpayed, Over rated, not a legitimate 2C... so yeah

No one is saying Risto is overpayed or even overrated. We’re saying he isn’t great in his own end and there are stats to back it up. So because of the ROR trade your gonna shift from blaming the players to blaming the coach?

I never said he’s not as good as people believe. I don’t know what everyone thinks of him, I’m just saying I’m my opinion I don’t think he’s as good as you think he is, because he’s not great in his own end and there are stats to back it up. So therefore I wouldn’t trade a player like Bertuzzi for him. Once again, ask your self the question, if he’s as good as your saying, then why would you wanna trade him?

Sabres have 6 RHD 3 they just acquired, they need cap and they need good forwards, hes the best trade chip they have. If not they just move Miller over to LD, but their forward group is still not spectacular

Dude how many young top four right handed Dman are getting traded, almost none. If Risto was that then they would keep, hes clearly not good in his own end man
