I see only a single one sided trade.

VGK- Vegas can’t sign Gusev, they said they wanted a 2nd, a middling prospect and a mid to late puck. They also need RHDs. I think this is a good fit for both teams.
MTL- MTL gets a depth winger and a puck moving LHD that they desperately need. A 1st and a 2nd is reasonable unless you think MTL will still be in the cellar in two years (I don’t think they will).
EDM- Hickey is a borderline second pairing veteran defenseman with term. A 5th is underpayment.
FLA- Not a terrible return considering Hoffman’s on an expiring contract, but if Leddy can warrant a 1st, so can Hoffman. Or at least a better prospect than Vance Sompel, who’s a fine prospect, but nothing incredible.

You are incorrectly quoting Jesse Granger about Gusev from the Athletic. Granger has clarified since
"They’ve had teams call from around the league, they’ve had a few offers but I don’t think the offers are what they would like. Right now they are getting something like a second round pick with a prospect or a late draft pick attached to that, which is not nearly the value Nikita Gusev should draw."

Since those offers are clearly not enough, that is the reason he hasn't been traded yet.

One of the common fallacies I’ve seen on this site is “this player is worth [x], therefore, they must yield [x] in a trade”. The context of a trade matters. Vegas is kind of over a barrel here; they don’t really have the means to sign Gusev and every team knows that. So every team is going to try to get him for less. I suppose it’s possible Gusev’s price will rise as the season approaches, but this isn’t a case where Vegas can just hang on to him if they can’t get the return they want. They’re on the clock and they need to make some kind of a trade.

I also question why people think a guy who’s never played in the NHL should warrant a big return. European players don’t always translate well to the N American game, so why give up a lot in a trade for that?

This is why he won't be traded, the offers are too low and Vegas just has to move Reaves and Holden to be able to sign him and become compliant

See, I can believe that. I just can’t believe that a skater who’s never played in the NHL is worth more than the offers he’s been getting.
