Description

Tried basing it off of the Kadri to CGY swap that fell through
That trade was
TOR: Brodie (50% salary), Janko
CGY: Kadri (50% salary), Brown
TEAM 3: CGY 2nd, TOR 2nd, 50% of Brodie, 50% of Kadri
Kadri got 44 points which is 8 less than Kreider and he was playing 3rd line minutes. They have similar cap hits and Kadri's grit balances the on ice category if not tilting it in his favor. Kreider also has one year left but if an extension was in place than it would get closer value. Kreider also got 28 goals so overall I'd say Kadri = Kreider in trade value. Buchnevich is 9 points more than Brown but Buchnevich will likely be pricier so trade value is close IMO overall considering Kreider's term. The 3rd team part stays the same but you can' really show that the same in Cap Friendly so I just let the Rangers retain and created a Brodie to show his salary

If you mean the Buch and Brown thing I was reaching a little bit (or a lot) but Kadri and Kreider have very equal trade value if not more for Kadri.
If you don't know what I'm talking about then you didn't read the desc and you should do it now

I'm confused. The Rangers would be giving up Kreider, Buchnevich, and a 2nd round pick? And getting Brodie and Jankowski? And there is retention on both sides? If I'm understanding that correctly then no. The Rangers have no need for one season of Brodie. Jankowski is okay I guess. But honestly I dont see a match because my counter offer would be Kreider for Jankowski and a 1st round pick which has nothing to do with what you suggested.

Extensions could be agreed upon for Kreider and Brodie in both scenarios

Well this is all terrible for NYR, take out Buch and it's still a no! No room or need for those players. Kreider says no chance on these "extension in place" deals to places he doesn't want to be. Unless of course it's a 2m overpay, then "it's in place" lol

Rangers would have no interest in Brodie. That's also a rip-off trade.
