Top 5 NHL Team

Created by: McMan97
Team: 2019-20 Dallas Stars
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 23, 2019
Published: Jul. 23, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Honka's rights will likely be traded prior to the season starting. Calgary makes sense as most of their top D prospects are graduating to the next level and Honka would be a great addition especially if Hamonic leaves the following year.

Could see the same trade from Dallas's side for Brodie instead of Frolik as the Stars are weak on the right side.

How tf is Dallas supposed to get under the cap limit before the season starts? Hanzal can't be placed on LTIR until that point, meaning that the Stars have to be Cap compliant prior to them moving Hanzal to LTIR. Frolik's $4.3M make that pretty near impossible. And with Gurianov (who is cheaper) being NHL ready, Frolik is an unnecessary addition to the roster.

And as @Hedman77 stated above, there's no shot that Calgary further complicates their own issues by adding Honka.

Is this true? What about Toronto with Clarkson and Horton?? Or does it not count if they were already on LTIR last season?

I wasn't aware Calgary had a right-side D issue.

The trade would happen once the season starts and they can move Hanzal to LTIR. Calgary desperately needs to move Frolik & Brodie for enough cap space to sign their RFA's, so at this point they're not worried about when as long as they get it done appropriately.

As far as Gurianov, I'd have him as the first call up. But Perry will likely get a shot at #2RW and if not they could hypothetically move him down to #3RW, Frolik to LW and Cogliano to 4th line for Janmark. (If anything, Janmark would make sense to go back to Calgary too now). LASTLY, Honka will cost AT MOST 1 mil-1.25 for one year. He hardly implicates their financial situation.
