Using that logic then half the GMs in the league are bad. Cap space is an asset that can be used to improve a team or on the other hand, handicap it. In this case Pitt is ABOVE the cap and in order to get under they made a trade with EDM to gain $1.29M in cap space.

So looking at the deal with this prospective the trade is now
