You'd be surprised what a change of scenery could bring, plus he's not accepting a short deal or a cheap one

Yah it isn't a high risk for either team in terms of the actual contracts, but the Rangers give up a 2nd rounder? I think a little too much, plus Tierney is one of the worst defensive forwards in the league, that's why San Jose got rid of him. That trade is not good in my eyes.

100% agree with you. Puljujarvi is more of a project than anything and I can't believe that this trade is literally what everyone has been doing in their ARMCHAIR-GM's. Id trade a bag of pucks for that kids lol let alone pay him $4M.

So he has done nothing of note in Edmonton, and his reward for that is a $16 million contract to come to NYC and HOPE he will play better? That is simply ridicules.

Honestly, your trades are just cap dumps at this point. Smith to Calgary? Calgary still has to sign guys and they don't have much cap room, so why would they allow us to dump Smith? The Namestnikov trade is just blasphemy at this point. Everyone on this site does it and it's one of the dumbest trades I have seen. Nashville says no 100% lol. The strome trade is not worth it, the Rangers aren't going to give up a 2d round pick for one of the worst defensive forwards in the league. Tierny's Corsi rating is so bad that it makes me wonder why Ottawa still keeps him.

They have 7.5 before any trades, with over a mil retained, it's still a cap dump but they can easily afford it. With their rfas, realistically only one is getting a real deal

What are you talking about enough to afford? They have to sign Tkachuk. He is slotted around 4.5-5.5. Now say he gets 5.5, that leaves them 2 Mil to work with and be under the cap. They can't afford this at all because they still need to sign 1 more forward to have a 22-23 man roster, plus any performance bonuses they have to pay.
