JJ's contract is what is killing any deal-if the pens think they have 2/3 window one 1st rnd pick is not going to matter. I would argue giving JJ 5 yr deal is what was idiotic.

it will cost little to nothing to move JJ. I'm not sure where you even get this mess from.
If anything, the only thing holding up a JJ deal is they don't have anyone to replace him other than Riikola and I don't know if they trust him to fill that role.
Those are the facts.
If they had anyone they felt comfortable with filling that role he'd already be gone.
