EDM need goal top 6 wingers, not overpaid bottom 6 utility forwards.

Namestnikov played like a top 6 guy with Kuch and Stammer. Put him with McDavid and Draisaital, I’m willing to bet he produces 20-20 at least. He is certainly better then any other option they have on the right side (Chiasson, Kassian, Neal probably).

You could use that argument to justify moving any winger to EDM though. I am not even an EDM fan, but even I can see they need real top 6 talent. Players that can drive the play without piggy-backing off of McDavid or Drai. Namestnikov would be just a plug. I see no reason for EDM to make such a move. It would only benefit NYR by allowing them the to dump cap. IMO, NYR is going to have to pay to dump Namestnikov, likely a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He's just not a desirable player and has a skillset and production rate that could be had for cheaper.
