Anaheim should basically dump Fowler for futures, like STL should do with Shattenkirk. Both teams have serious Fwd holes and an abundance of dmen. They could use the extra cap to resign players like Perron, McGinn for Ana and Backes or Brouwer for STL. Plus Theodore is ready to get action, as is Schmaltz.

Im not sure exactly how to handicap the trade value, but I think your assessment is off. St. Louis was looking for both Bruins 1st rounders + Patranak for Shattenkirk. One would assume, Anaheim would be seeking similar package for Fowler, especially since any team Fowler goes to, would have him locked up for 2 years. If Bruins sign Stamkos then I think it would make sense to reallocate $4 mill of value from Marchand down to their Defense. Especially since it'll be very difficult to sign Marchand next year, if they have Stamkos' contract.
