lol Barbs. got my 8mil player we needed. his contract ends in 6 years with jt. cost certainty. good for 50 points min. which means I can probably re-sign barrie

No disrespect to Johansen but Marner is younger and has the higher ceiling. A late first round pick doesn't close that gap between them even with cap savings and term considered.

Also no one likes Ristolainen. He and Ceci are basically a wash unless were talking fantasy hockey. Adding SDA and Bracco makes it even less appealing.

I hope the Leafs do find a way to re-sign guys like Barrie and Muzzin but its far more likely they figure that out by moving middle six players (Kapanen, Johnsson, Hyman, Kerfoot etc) and pulling off CBA shenanigans as opposed to trading key guys
