7.8 left for Laine. people talk about leafs all the time that they are in cap crunch... jets are a bigger cap issue for a team that should be 4, 5 mil less than what the ceiling is. I salute the jets owners for spending money to the max.

I don't think Jets owners are the problem. Laine is the problem. He should take a $6M one year contract and prove the team that he deserve a long term deal.

Idk why he would want that. He should take a 2 year deal or so come back play good hockey, and then ask for the big bucks.

well all the top RFA are going the show me the $$ way. if I am Laine, he will say I have got 110 goals in the last 3 years (that might be the most goals of any RFA this year) and even on my off year I still got 30 goals.
I see your point on why it would benefit the team for 1 or 2 year deal but if I am Laine I want the cash now.

That tells you what type of team player he is . Jets should sign Connors and trade Laine.
