Isn’t too too bad of a package, however if I’m the ducks, I’d rather try to sink and get a good 1st then trade it away just to be meh for another year

I'm a huge Kase fan, and the total trade offer isn't bad, but given the contract uncertainty with Pietrangelo, Parayko is the most untouchable player on the Blues' roster.

I made this with the assumption they would be resigning Pietrangelo. I do not follow the Blues closely (I am a Ducks fan), have you heard anything on his extension?

Totally get that as well. I am optimistic, but I think Gibby puts them in a spot where they can sneak into the playoffs. That said, the top half of the upcoming draft is stacked, so I would not mind them getting another high pick.

No and typically the Blues run a pretty tight ship so things don't get out - or maybe it's just quiet because they don't get much attention... Before signing Faulk I was pretty confident that Petro would be an easy extension but now I get the feeling that the FO knows something that we don't. That being said, there are plenty of ways to find the money to give to Pietro so it's not a lost cause if there is mutual interest, but the last week has been a little confusing. And I could be wrong about the Faulk move; there is a decent chance that they saw an opportunity to add a guy that can reduce the workload of Petro/Parayko and still keep Petro long-term.
