Not like they have any other players that will be able to step right in. Savard buys a couple of years until one of the Marlies (Liljegren or someone else) is ready to play top 4 mins and Vatanen is a cheaper option than trying to retain Barrie

I agree that getting one of them would be nice but there is no need for both. I personally think just resigning muzzin is the way to go

Vatanen is a couple of years younger than Muzzin, and right-handed which is why I had them signing him, but if Muzz could be had for cheaper, I would agree. Savard could be replaced by any other dman would around $3.5-$4.5m per year under contract for another year or 2. I feel like that may be something Dubas will look to do for cost certainty at 2nd pair D
