I feel like Greer doesn't fit anywhere on the roster. Maybe a 1st and a 2nd instead?

Don't know if a team would be willing to give up a 1st and 2nd for a rental. Though I could see COL resigning Kreider if things work out well with him fitting in with the rest of the team, for they also have the cap room if so desired. Maybe a conditional 2nd round pick if COL resigns him, but I wouldn't push the issue and would just take AJ Greer instead. Greer has size and (I believe?) has a physical game which would allow him to fit in on the bottom six lines. Though the season is early, it looks as though Greer is struggling in the AHL and a change of scenery and getting playing time in the NHL might be just what he needs to succeed.

Oh come on! It don't look so bad... There's lots of room for growth and development the following season. Also the season after next season Lundqvist, Staal, and Smith, come off the books and if needed the Rangers could go heavy into the UFA market.

Also the Shattenkirk buyout (Over $5 million) comes off the books as well with Lundqvist, Staal, and Smith, the season after next year.
