guys here were busy saying how their over the cap when hyman comes back well now their screwed when marner comes back

My understanding is that the cap is calculated as a projection based on the daily salary of the team. Since Marner is supposed to miss something like 4 weeks and he has such a high salary that should provide far more relief than Hyman when he was on LTIR which might (depends on return date) provide enough relief for the Leafs to carry 23 players. That all being said, the salary Ccp is voodoo and Pridham is a witch doctor

Can we stop slotting Spezza in as the 3rd line center? I was at the game Sunday in Chicago and it confirmed that Babcock is 100% right in his assessment of Spezza. He isn't good enough to be more than a fill in for a short term injury/illness. He's had a great career, but the game has passed him by. The only reason he's considered for a spot in the lineup is because Gauthier and Shore are almost as bad. A healthy lineup and a mid season pickup of a decent 4th liner and we won't have to watch any of them.

This is incorrect. Cap hits aren’t accrued daily when using ltir.




Leafs are fine when Marner returns. Pridham will use unlimited emergency call ups as a loophole.
