Making this team a good playoff team this year with a bright future

Created by: habs12345
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 22, 2019
Published: Nov. 22, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not sure if this would be enough to get Hall (who almost for sure will not stay in NJ after this year). A very good C prospect, a good RD prospect and 2 picks.

Hall trade contingent on him signing a contract with Habs.

I would offer 7 years x 10M (maybe 10.5M if needed to make it happen).

Which is why he will walk in FA and NJ will get nothing.

they will trade him for best offer which will be way better then this and everyone know whichever team trades for him will have best chance at re signing him rather then him even making it to UFA

Doubt it. Why not wait until FA and get extra money + not play for a team that traded away everything to get you.

Montreal can easily afford him, but they don't want him because he isn't worth that cap hit.

In what world Vitaly Abramov is a top prospect and Davidsson a decent one? They are both AHL players with maybe some NHL potentiel but never in a way to really impact a team. They probably add the conditionnal pick also because they were pretty aware he wouldnt resign since not many players want to sign with CLB and they knew Duchene had eyes on free agency (NSH,MTL etc).

So basically they had a B+ prospect, a B- prospect and a middle 1st for Duchene...
Both prospect here are way better than what CLB gave but we could argue that it would take a 1st instead of the 2nd and the 3rd

No top prospect was moved in this deal. Also I would argue ot will be more like the stone deal as duchene is a C and ppl pay more for Cs. Now there was definitely a top prospect moved in that deal but no 1st
