Why would Calvert be included? Hes one of the Avs best PKers and has been great this year. And if NJD want to tank for a high pick they wouldnt even want Calvert anyway

Just looking to send a winger over. It could be niteo if that works better for the Aves

same thing with Nieto. Hes been good and the Avs need depth for the playoffs. Why would NJD want him? They would be better off without him and call up an AHL vet to tank

I think its more value to trade for more pieces, cause with hall who loses their spot on the Aves line up?

Jost probably. He has more value than Nieto/Calvert and is someone who the Devils might actually want going forward since hes only 21. Hes less important to the Avs short term success than someone like Nieto or Calvert

You'd rather lose Jost, a kid with a ton of potential than a replaceable top 9 winger? I get short term aka this season is better but at the end of the day the Aves will compete for the next 5 plus years no problem and Jost would be a huge part of that while the other two guys wont be there in 2 years

In terms of just trade value Jost > Calvert, but if giving up Jost instead means we dont have to give up a better prospect then I would rather do that. The Avs top 6 is full already and adding Hall means that Jost wont be more than a 3rd liner with no PK ability and very limited PP time, if any. He doesnt fit with the Avs long term.
