Drive by fan? Get a grip dude. Watch the first goal...whats McCabe doing there? And i never said he was a scorer, i said he cant make a breakout pass. Scandella and Miller have been MILES AND MILES ahead of him this season. Watch him in a critical eye instead of wjatever the hell youre watching him as. Hes bad and so is Ristolainen who missed a 5 foot breakout pass the other night that gave Boston possession for 3 mins....but yeah he hits people so give him a pass...haha drive by fan gimmie a break you idiot. And yes there are stats saying he is bad a lt breakout passes its called successful controlled exits and entries. He doesnt have very many and he has played maybe the most this season except for Risto.
For starters i said "Theirs nothing saying hes worse at breakout passes than any other dman on the team" this is backed up by the stats you pretend i dont know about (i didnt say their is no stat, i was saying the stats at hand dont say hes any worse).
McCabe is currently 4th amongst the Dmen with controlled zone exits (5v5 data). Above Scandella, Montour, Gilmour, and Bogosian. McCabe was also 2nd only to Pilut all of last year in that category. Thats not his game yet he is still serviceable in that category in all aspects, while excelling at the defensive aspects of his game, 2nd in hits, 1st in blocked shots. McCabes also 3rd on the team in DPS (Defensive point shares).

so again, whos watching with bias?
Also also to answer your question about the first goal in the Boston game, Girgensons blew his coverage (both he and Asplund charge Grzelcyk at the point, thats Asplund responsibility as he can get in between Grzelcyk and Marchand) Asplund pulls up, but goes at Marchand at the point. McCabe had to cover both Bergeron and Heinen, Risto stands in no mans land facing Pasta but to far to play him or Heinen while Girgensons takes his time coming off Grzelcyk, lazily throwing his stick in the passing lane between Marchand and Pasternak. McCabe goes to play Bergeron, but Risto did not take Heinen (because he has to cover pasta whos moving to the top of the circle at this point), so he has to get back between Heinen and Marchand while now focusing the puck carrier Pasternak, then Ullmark bites hard on the Pasta shot that turned into a pass. McCabe can only react to the pass after its released, Girgensons again makes a lazy attempt at putting a stick in the lane while debatablely out of position and still McCabe nearly blocked it as the puck barely snuck under his shin pad. Could McCabe have made a more solid decision to take Bergeron, sure, it would have left Heinen absolutely alone and possibly left a lane for Pasternak, so you cant fault him. If anyone, I'd blame Girgensons for taking Gryzelcyk (when Asplund was headed to the point) leaving Pasternak alone. If Asplund goes to the point McCabe can press up on Bergeron and Marchand, who eventually gets the puck, while Girgensons stays at the left side of the diamond taking Pasta and Risto can stay at the back taking Heinen at the front of the net and Bergeron if he sneaks behind McCabe. Asplund could have also came back on Bergeron instead of watching Marchands pass to Pasternak and that would have taken that pass away all together, and allowed McCabe to take Heinen and Risto to press Pasta
