Link? Haven't heard this. Obviously CapFriendly doesn't have the feature, but the $7x3 bridge would have a high year 3 number. Ex) $10M where his QO would guarantee that fourth year was a strong number. Werenski, Boeser, McAvoy etc. all had that similar structure

It also makes a ton of sense for Barzal because by the time year 3 is up a ton of contracts are off the books. Ladd, Boychuk, Clutterbuck, Varlamov, Komarov (traded in this scenario, but obviously might not be the case in real life). He could see a contract north of 12 or 13m AAV by this time

Wtf is that Faksa contract. He’s not even worth what he’s getting now. He blows.

I think he's one of the better 2 way C's. Fits what Trotz is looking to do. Don't see too much of an issue with it, but if he came at a lesser AAV? Sure

I’ve watched him play in Dallas, nothing. Absolutely nothing impresses me.

I think barzal will get 10 x 6 or 10.5-10.75 x 7

I'd be happy with either but I do think a bridge makes the most sense for all parties. Get us to the point where bad contracts are off the books and Barzy can really cash in. Save a couple million today and spread it out across the roster

Yeah but IMO owners/Lou probably want to get barzal locked up for as long as possible.
