I believe both Franzen and Vitale will be "Prongered" with their entire salaries being non-cap hits. This opens up over $5M to help re-sign the goalie and defenseman along with the existing cap space as well as any other monies gained by personnel movement. They will be more than okay cap-wise.

And you do realize that you can't buy out a player that's on LTIR and will never play again. You can only LTIR Franzen he can't be bought out with a career ending injury hope you realize that.
