Description
I know this isn't sexy and fun, but I think this team can continue building from within. Here is version 2, where we lose Skeji, Fast, and Georgiev at the deadline for non-roster assets. Lias goes either at the same time, or in the offseason... it's not too important.

I do think it's possible that we get some roster forward for Skeji and/or Georgiev, but it's too difficult to predict, so I'll leave it out for now. Obviously getting a roster player for either would change things, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

For those not too in tune to Rangers prospects; the Rangers are overloaded on young defensemen coming into the league in the next few years, which includes top prospects K'Andre Miller and Nils Lundkvist. With Tony D continuing to be an amazing defenseman, and Ryan Lindgren being a surprise this year as a strong stay at home D, there is a possibility to move on from Skeji to keep Kreider AND make room for these young defensemen. This is sort of contingent on the rumors that Tony D is capable of playing LD. He can switch over to LD once Staal's contract is up, and you run a D corps like: Tony D, Miller, Lindgren on the left, with Trouba, Fox, and Lundkvist on the right, with Hajek and Rykov remaining close by just in case of an injury or if one of them isn't ready just yet.

idk y the rangers haven't even tried playing deangelo on the LD this season. he played LD in the past successfully. this season is a good opportunity to find out if he can play LD in the pros.

the rangers have some really good D prospects, the only problem is none of them project to be top pairing guys. i remember when the rangers traded gomez for the mcdonough package, he wasn't projected as a top pairing guy as well, so there is still hope.

It's a really small sample size, I know, but they do throw Tony D and Fox out there late in games when it's time to get some offense. In those situations he's on the left, so it seems they at least are aware of it haha. RIght now it's a little tough long term I think because who are you going to put on the right side in his place? I guess there is the Joey Keane guy, but I don't know if he's good enough. 10 points out of the playoffs now so it's likely a closed deal, I'm sure moves will start being made shortly after the All Star break
