barrie trade wont happen. would need to add at least a first for the avs to consider

The Wings would need to take this. They are thin at D and they have Tatar or Nyquist who both seem to be equally expendable at this time.

Why? Barrie is younger, but Seabrook is exactly the type of defender the Avs are after right now. It's not any less weird than the Subban for Weber trade that just happened - Habs really wanted a specific type of defensemen, Avs really want a specific type of defensemen. The reason this won't happen is because Seabrook wouldn't waive his NMC because he would likely lose it as traded-to teams do not often allow the player to keep them (see Subban).

Trading Seabrook and Hjammer in one year when the Hawks have their best defense since 2010 is kind of silly.
