Why do you want to evaluate NHL-regulars Hugo/Pett (very good to great potential) via a trade for one NHLer (good but could be very good) and unknown futures?
The STATS alone show they are better and thriving in Vanc system, and have a higher ceiling.

This trade sucks! Hughes is a future Norris winner and Pettersson has proven himself. Cole Caufield is small, which is why we passed on him in the draft and pick Vasily Podkolzin instead. If Benning did this trade he would be fired
