No thanks on that price for a rental -VGK

If 37 y/o Andy Greene and his 5mil cap hit can get a 2nd, 27 y/o Gus and his 1.2mil cap hit should get a bit more. Doesn't mean it's fair value, but that's the market price.

Oh I don’t disagree, but I’m saying I’d pass with that price. Very solid draft class coming and we still need a lot more depth organizationally

Gus is also questionable defensively and has not put up stellar offensive numbers this year. Realistically they should have moved him at last years deadline

If Boston takes Saad then they likely have no shot at re-signing their "QB" Krug. The CHI package is asking too much as a result, therefore:
- Need to at least erase a 1st pick/Frederic & there has to be some Saad $$$-retained by Chi-town in order to satisfy the key re-signing of Krug above...

Yeah but not a chance Saad is moved for less then a 1st and good prospect or a 3rd; salary retention beyond a nominal amount of $500K or less just won't happen. Saad is better then every winger on the rental market (Krieder, Taffoli, Zucker) and has another year on his contract.

OK, fair enough, but more money in the form of a Bruins roster guy likely has to come back to CHI (re: Krug)...
* CHI acquires Bruins 1st pick, 3rd pick, Backes, AND J. Moore (Boston add from current roster), and
* BOS acquires Saad (w/ $1M retained) and _________________________ (insert a later Chicago pick or B-prospect)?

EDIT... with Moore you can flip him at this TDL, the draft, in the summer, or keep as un-protected for expansion draft (experienced, cheap cap-hit for Seattle and they won't be locked in for life)!
