Domi's an RFA, so you will have team control on him, because of that, i believe that he's worth more then a 3rd liner in Jost, Graves tha is okay, but not a sure thing (the sample is too short to tell if he can keep playing like he is to stay in a top4 roll) and a coin flip in a late first round pick.
I believe that a trade around Domi for Timmins/Newhook and a 1st/2nd round pick would be more fair

Except that a) Sakic has said he isn’t trading Byram, Newhook or Timmins b) Graves is playing top 4 minutes paired with Makar, making under $1M and is an RFA

Your assessment is not without merit. I based this trade on two knowns: 1. that Sakic doesnt want to trade top prospects, & 2. that MB loves Graves.

I also considered this deal minus AL & TJ, which was: Domi + Folin for Graves + 1st

I have also watched every game Graves has played in the NHL. He displayed the same confidence & ability last season, before being paired with Makar.

We also know that the Avs would have sent him back to the Eagles (last season), if not for the high interest from other teams & the likelihood of him being claimed off waivers.
