Keeps majority of the core intact, with these moves are able to resign Pietroangelo which is huge. Team stays as a contender
- Using Josi as a similar comparable, Pietrangelo gets similar cap at $9M which is fair.
- Allen for Hutton. St. Louis can't really afford to pay Allen $4M as a backup, and I think Allen deserves another shot as a starter. Hutton has had some good seasons as a backup with STL, and the retained salary makes up for the talent difference between the two. Both tendys have 1 year left so if the experiment doesn't work they can both walk free July 2021.
- Bozak's cap needs to go , he can still play and NYI can use a 3rd line centre, his cap hit would be $3.75M x1y if retained for them which is fair. Not sure on return though, but STL doesn't need a roster player back.
