I would go higher AAV on shorter term for Pageau. I think the Bozak deal of 5mil over 3 years makes sense

Honestly the Sens are in a position where they are going to be operating with a lot of cap space, and could afford to overpay Pageau to get a shorter term deal. Unless he's going to take a pay cut from what he currently makes, giving him term presents a huge problem when the sens need to integrate the young centres, and he gets pushed to th bottom of the lineup.

Hell I'd give him 6mil on a 1-2 year deal

just to hear another fans thoughts, who do you think we should target in FA/trade for a minute eating RD while JBD/Thomson develop fully
Tanev would be interesting if we went fA route, big AAV on a 2/3 year deal
Dumba obv interesting in trade route

I feel pretty confident in saying that the sens will win the Artem Zub sweepstakes. I don't know that he's going to fill that Dylan DeMelo shaped void, but he'll play for Ottawa after SKA's season is over, and he'll likely be an NHL player for Ottawa next year.

Beyond that, I wouldn't be surprised if Zach Bogosian is a Senator for the rest of the season after Buffalo terminates his contract. Sens are currently at just 5D after Goloubef got claimed, and he could be a warm body. If he impresses I wouldn't be opposed to giving him a 1 year deal.

I would brace yourself for the inevitable Ron Hainsey extension.

all makes sense, i just think dorion/melnyk will start facing pressure to start the inclination back towards playoffs/etc, and i dont really see how we can use all these draft picks because you can only have so many guys signed to contract, gonna have to make a move with some capital for a player or possibly to trade up a fair bit

I can see them putting together a package to get a Dman, but it would have to be a young RD who is top 4 ready, and I don't see many of those being available. Maybe a Phil Myers type?
