emelin trade is terrible andi would offer more for Jeff Carter like a prospect also but in other words the team is pretty good

Holy crap i would make that trade is a second guys. Emelin is very replaceable. But more important is the cap savings.

Savard is on permanent LTIR so we'd be saving all of his cap hit. Plus Molson would be happy because Savards salary is only 500K even though his cap hit is 4M. Emelin also has an extra year on his contract. Making this trade would mean the Habs would have the cap space to try and acquire a star player with a high salary if they wanted to. Or get a good player in free agency next year. Emelin is a waste of money for what he brings. He should be making closer to 2M for him to be cost effective.
